How we research, write, date and correct our guides on studying in Turkey, and how we keep them independent.

On this page
Turquoise Education has helped international students apply to Turkish universities since 2019. Our guides, university profiles and articles exist so that a student, or a parent, can make a decision about studying in Turkey with accurate, current information, whether or not they ever become our client. This page explains how we produce that content and what you can expect from it.
Who writes and reviews our content
Our content is written by our admissions team, drawing on the questions students ask us every day and on the applications we prepare. Guides and articles that carry a person's name are published under the responsibility of that person: today that is Burak Ünal, Director of University Admissions. Each author page lists the author's background and the articles they are responsible for. Content without a named author is published under the responsibility of Turquoise Education as an organisation.
How we research
We start from primary, official sources and use secondary sources only to find them:
- the Council of Higher Education (YOK) and YOK Atlas, for which universities and programs exist and how they are regulated;
- Study in Turkiye and Turkiye Scholarships (Turkiye Burslari), for official information aimed at international students;
- the Presidency of Migration Management and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for residence permits and visas;
- the Official Gazette, for decisions such as state university fees;
- each university's own website and admission office, for its fees, deadlines and requirements;
- our own experience of the applications we handle, which tells us how the rules work in practice.
Every guide lists the official sources it relies on, so you can check a figure yourself.
Figures, dates and updates
- Tuition fees, scholarship amounts, living costs and official fees change every year, and Turkish lira amounts change faster. We state such figures as typical values for the current academic year, preferably in US dollars, and we say when a figure is approximate.
- Every guide and article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. The "last updated" date changes only when we have checked or changed the facts, never to make a page look fresh.
- We review our guides at least once a year before the main autumn intake, and sooner when a rule, fee or deadline changes.
- University profiles describe the institution; where we have not yet verified a detail (such as the founding year or the official website), we leave it out rather than guess.
Use of technology and AI
We use software, including AI writing tools, to help research, draft and translate some content. Tools do not decide what we publish: a named member of our team is responsible for every article published under their name, figures must trace back to a source we can name, and we correct errors as soon as we learn of them.
Independence and commercial relationships
- Our admission guidance is free for students. When we recommend universities, the recommendation is based on the student's grades, goals, budget and chances of admission.
- We do not accept payment to publish a university profile, an article or a ranking, and we do not let any institution approve what we write about it.
- Where we link to a university, an authority or a service provider, it is because the link helps the reader.
Corrections
If you find an error, an outdated figure or a broken link, tell us at contact@university.com.tr (subject "Correction") or on WhatsApp. We check every report, correct confirmed errors within five working days, and update the page's "last updated" date. If a correction changes the substance of a guide, we say so on the page.
What our content is not
Our guides are general information. They are not legal or immigration advice for your specific case, and they cannot replace the decision of a university, a consulate or the Presidency of Migration Management. Admissions are decided by universities and visas and residence permits by the Turkish authorities; see our Terms of Use. For advice on your own situation, contact our advisors.
